Meatloaf with Gravy Frozen Dinner.
Brendan Snider
18 July 2008
As far as frozen dinners go, the South Beach Living Meatloaf with Gravy is rather mouth watering. Just 13g of net carbs, 16g of protein, 0g of trans fats, and a juicy flavour. You get the meatloaf, gravy, green beans and red peppers. It's a 2 compartment plastic container, half for the veggies, half for the beef. You simply microwave it for five mins, no stirring mandatory, then let it sit for another 2. The green beans come out quite nicely - a good mixture between crisp and luscious. So you get 70% of your daily vitamin C here, 15% iron, 10% Vitamin An and 6% calcium. For fats it's 9g total, made from 2.5g saturated, 1.5g poly and 5g mono. The sole genuine down side is the 910mg of sodium - which is 38% of your daily need. Still, I live a particularly low sodium life. I'm able to permit my dinner to use up this much sodium, particularly if it's as mouth watering as this one is. Luckily for those of us who are challenged in finding low carb items in our stores, the South Beach diet appears to be carried by most huge superstore chains. So there should not be any difficulty at all finding this in your house city. You can stock your refrigerator up with a couple of of these, and always know you've a healthy dinner option with no regard for your current ingredient list or time situation. One thing I found fascinating here is they have stove instructions on the box as well. It actually drives home quite how much time we've saved in modern times. You might spend ten mins heating up your range, and another 30 mins waiting for your food to be done - or you might pop the tray into a microwave and seven mins later be eating your meal for a lot less electricity, house heating up and time waiting. |
